Overall goal of the study is to identify genes with enriched expression in cochlear macrophages that were also regulated in an age-dependent manner Overall design: Macrophages and nonmacrophages were isolated from young adult (1.5 month) and old adult (12-14 month) heterozygous CX3CR1 GFP knock-in mice (CX3CR1 GFP/+) whole cochlea or cochlea substructures. Cells were sorted for GFP expression using a dissociation and FACS protocol adapted from Panganiban et al., 2022.
