A multiwavelenght monitoring of the Narrow Line Seyfert 1 MKN478 with XMM

We propose to monitor the optical to Xray spectrum of the NLSy1 Mkn478 withXMM. Our main scientific goal is the investigation of the nature of the opticalto Xray Spectral Energy Distribution and of its variability in relation withthe changes of the Xray nuclear continuum. The measure (or the lack) of lagsbetween the radiation emitted in different energy bands will be used to studythe casual relations among the physical processes occurring in the nuclearenvironment. Time delays between the hard Xrays and any narrowbandreprocessing features will strongly constraint the geometry of the reprocessingmatter.
