Skill Centre Trainees and Their Employers, 1976

<P>Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.</P><br>The aim of this survey was to study the relation between the publicly sponsored training of adults at skillcentres and the local markets which they serve. Two skillcentres were studied in detail, at Stoke-on-Trent and at Dundee. A survey was conducted of the men who completed courses at either skillcentre over a three-year period, and this was followed by a survey of the employers who had hired those same men to work with the skills to which they had been introduced.<br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR><br>Variables<br>

Data was collected about skilled manpower, including: demand for skilled manpower; composition of labour force; training methods; recruiting methods; experience and attitudes to recruitment and induction of skillcentre trainees.
