利用美洲黑杨的全同胞家系群体和自然群体,对美洲黑杨的性别决定位点进行精细定位。对定位区间进行序列解析,发现区间内的FERR-R基因是由FERR基因的片段复制产生的,且通过RdDM机制沉默FERR基因。结合拟南芥的遗传转化实验,验证了FERR基因是美洲黑杨的促雌基因,为后续的无絮杨树的创制提供了重要的靶基因。相关内容已获国家发明专利授权。

We conducted fine-mapping of the sex-determining loci in *Populus deltoides* using its full-sib family population and natural population. Sequence analysis of the mapped interval showed that the FERR-R gene within the interval was derived from segmental duplication of the FERR gene, and the FERR gene is silenced via the RdDM mechanism. Combined with genetic transformation experiments in *Arabidopsis thaliana*, we verified that the FERR gene functions as a female-promoting gene in *Populus deltoides*, which provides a critical target gene for the subsequent creation of fluff-free poplar varieties. This research has been granted a national invention patent in China.
