Berry skin and flesh RNAseq of Garnacha and Tempranillo along ripening

To evaluate whether berry colour genetic variation has additional consequences on fruit ripening and composition, we performed transcriptomic comparisons of developing berries between near-isogenic white and black-berried somatic variants of Garnacha and Tempranillo cultivars. In 2016, berries were collected at different developmental stages from green berries just before the onset of ripening until maturity, from three independent replicates. Independently plants were considered biological replicates. Each replicate consisted of berries from two or three different clusters of the same plant that were collected from sun-facing sides of vineyards.
