This submission contains data on morphometric and meristic characters of the fish locally known as payangka from Bolano Sau Lake in Parigi Moutong District, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Based on DNA barcoding data (COI mtDNA) this species has been identified as the gudgeon Giuris laglaizei Sauvage 1880 (Eleotridae), representing the first record for this recently resurrected species outside the Philippines. The specimens were collected from August to December 2019.
