Chromosomal-level genome assembly of Gryllus bimaculatus

The two-spotted cricket (Gryllus bimaculatus) serves as both a promising nutrient source and an emerging model organism in biological research. Its high nutritional value and pharmacological potential support its utilization in food and feed, while its well-defined developmental characteristics facilitate genetic and evolutionary studies. However, the available genomes still require further refinement, a need that our high-quality assembly aims to fulfill. Here, we present a chromosome-level genome of G. bimaculatus assembled by integrating PacBio HiFi, Hi-C, and short-read data. The resulting genome spans 1.67 Gb with a scaffold N50 of 111.66 Mb, and 99.52% of the assembled sequences were anchored to 15 chromosomes. This high-quality genomic resource provides a critical foundation for future functional and comparative research in G. bimaculatus.
