Complete genome sequences of the Avian pathogenic Escherichia coli field isolates (10-578, 102026, 16-1068 and E956)

Colibacillosis, caused by avian pathogenic Escherichia coli (APEC), is a disease that affects many types of poultry resulting in huge economic losses globally. Because of the significance of the disease, more information is needed on APEC's mechanism of virulence. Here, we report fully closed genome sequences of four virulent avian pathogenic Escherichia coli field isolates belonging to distinct serogroups. This study aimed to characterize the genomic features of these isolates to provide information on pathogenesis of APEC strains and helps in vaccine development to better control the disease.
