Congestion Pricing Design and Optimization in Large-Scale Transportation Networks

The main aim of this thesis is to propose and develop several well-designed congestion pricing schemes considering different aspects of heterogeneity. The three specific research aims are: (1) to develop an equitable pricing scheme based on travellers’ perceived LOS; (2) to propose a coordinated pricing strategy considering multiple areas with different traffic dynamics; and (3) to propose congestion pricing strategies in the mixed traffic condition where human-driven vehicles (HVs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs) co-exist.
