supplementary Table S1. Determinations of fat, protein, lactose contents using milk composition analyzer and referring to previous methods

Both the accuracy and precision of the Milk Composition Analyzer (LactoStar, Funke Gerber) were validated referring to previous methods: Gerber for fat (method 2000.18; AOAC International, 2000), Kjeldahl for proteins (method 991.23; AOAC International, 2000), and gravimetric method for lactose (method 930.28; AOAC International, 2000). The results obtained using the milk analyzer were acceptable for the fat, protein and lactose contents (Supplemental Table S1).
