Dataset for Scale-free Bacteria Collective Motion

This repository contains the supplementary videos and source data supporting the associated article. The data comprise experimental recordings of bacterial-induced flows at varying confinement heights, as well as the processed datasets required to reproduce the manuscript's main figures. 1. Supplementary Movies (S1–S7) These videos demonstrate the motion of fluorescent beads advected by the flow induced by bacteria. In all recordings, the bacterial density is approximately two times the critical density. Imaging Details: All videos are shown in real-time with a scale bar of 100 microns. The time (T) is indicated in seconds at the top of every video. Velocity Fields: Arrows overlaid on the video indicate the instantaneous measured velocity field obtained through Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV). Note that arrow sizes are rescaled purely for visualization purposes. Confinement Heights: The videos correspond to the following confinement heights (H): Movie S1: H = 20 Movie S2: H = 40 Movie S3: H = 100 Movie S4: H = 420 Movie S5: H = 630 Movie S6: H = 840 Movie S7: H = 1290 2. Datasets The repository includes two .csv files containing the quantitative data extracted from the experiments, which can be used to recreate the main figure panels in the main text. Scales_data.csv: This file contains the data necessary to recreate Figures 1 and 2. It includes densities, confinement heights, associated critical densities, and all length scales reported in the article (including rescaled ones). The radius for this dataset is fixed at 5 millimeters. SLV_states_data.csv: This file contains the data necessary to recreate Figure 3d. It includes densities, confinement heights, radius, and the specific length scale (λ0) for all reported SLV (Single Large Vortex) states.
