The soil used in this experiment is natural forest soil, healthy banana garden soil, diseased banana garden soil and paddy soil. The soil type is lateritic soil developed from basalt parent material. All soil samples were collected from Chengmai County, Hainan Province. Five healthy plants growing at least 5 m apart were randomly selected from each experimental site. Soil samples were drilled from the 0-20 cm soil layer at four random locations
