Protection / Perth's eastern region Swan River / Foreshore stabilisation

This Project involves debris removal, planting, brush log making and installation along 3 kilometres of the Swan River foreshore. The brush logs will stabilise the riverbank protecting the foreshore from erosive forces. The foreshore will be planted with local native species. Plants will create habitat, shelter and food source for native aquatic and terrestrial species. The Swan River and foreshore will experience ecological benefits by the removal of debris from the area.

Tomato Lake and Garvey Park Floodplain are significant natural areas in the City of Belmont. The project proposes to strengthen the ecological values at these 2 sites by manual removal of weeds in ecological sensitive areas.
