资源简介:
This dataset contains supporting data for the randomized controlled trial titled "The Effect of Communicating Genetic Risk of Type 2 Diabetes and Wearable Technologies On Wearable-Device-Measured Behavioral Outcomes in East Asians: a Randomized Controlled Trial".

The dataset contains various variables including moderate to vigorous physical activity time (sum of vigorous and fairly active minutes) from Fitbit tracker as the primary outcome. The primary outcome variable was collected during 4 measurement timepoints, namely baseline, immediately post-intervention, 12-months post-intervention and 6-month follow-up. Secondary outcomes include, other fitbit variables such as sedentary time, calories burnt, steps, as well as biochemical markers of T2D and cardiovascular disease such as HbA1c, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides and demographic variables such as height, weight, grip strength, resting heart rate and blood pressure. However due to time contraints, only the primary outcome was analyzed and interpreted for the thesis.
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the effects of combining precision medicine with wearable devices on T2D are unclear. This study aims to assess: 1) the effects of communicating T2D genetic risk, and 2) the effects of combining T2D genetic risk communication with wearable device functions such as step-goal setting and activity prompts on objectively measured moderate-to-vigorous physical activity time within overweight and obese East Asians.

Two files have been uploaded 1) The main dataset title "RCT_masterdata_hkulib.dta" (which contains the variables collected during the trial) and 2) README.txt (which contains list of variables within the dataset).
