资源简介:
A postcard, "Packing Oranges, Southern California," published by M. Kashower Company and printed by Van Ornum Colorprint Company, both of Los Angeles, California, USA, circa 1910s. The image is a color-tinted photograph showing the interior of a packing house. Large rows with conveyor belts which dump oranges into boxes full of fruit are at the left and right. About a dozen men stand behind stands on which boxes are laying waiting to be packed. There are also men at a conveyor belt at the foreground, on which the lids to the boxes are secured with a machine. A man in a suit in the front rests his hand on a stack of boxes on a dolly. In the background are a few other men. Nex to them is a conveyor descending from an upper floor and containing empty boxes. Two more of these conveyors are at the far left and right and also transport empty boxes. The title of the card is at the bottom left in red lettering. On the back of the postally unused card are spaces for correspondence, an address, and a postage stamp. At the center is a palm tree design with the name and city of business for the printer, while the publisher's name and city of business is at the lower left. The number "440" at the bottom center may be a stock number. With a small crease at the top left corner, slight discoloration, and a stain at the top left of the back, the overall condition is good.
