Testing of frame-wall systems with rocking foundations (second system test)

This experiment is the second system-level test investigating the seismic performance of another seismic-resistant configuration (frame wall system) in which inelastic structural behavior and rocking foundation behavior were both present. Considering the strength difference between structural fuse and rocking footing and the symmetry of the system, six reduced-scale foundation-building models were constructed and tested via large-scale centrifuge facility at UC Davis. The test program involved with several quasi-static cyclic testing at component level(rocking footing and shear wall fuse), cyclic test at system level (FRDU, FRDS and BDS models), and dynamic shake table test of all constructed models, which results in eleven different trials and spins in total.
