资源简介:

The dataset contains the results of a Direct Numerical Simulation of a droplet impact onto a thin wall film (Hexadecane, air) performed with the ITLR inhouse program package Free Surface 3D (FS3D). The code solves the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in a one-field formulation with a Volume of Fluid (VoF) approach, see related publication. The simulation was performed in three dimensions (1024³) and the dataset consists of a two-dimensional slice through the symmetry plane (1024²).

The data is saved in hdf5 files. For each timestep, there is one file storing the VoF-variable which is a scalar field with values between 0 and 1 indicating the phases being ambient gas (0) or drop liquid (1), (funs00*.hdf). Additionally, there is another file for each timestep storing the velocity vector field, (velv00*.hdf). In total there are 86 timesteps starting with the initial condition of the simulation (timestep 0).

The simulation was performed as part of the GRK 2160 within the subproject SP-C2.
