IDENTIFICATION OF RISK FACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHRONIC MAXILLARY SINUSITIS AND IMPROVEMENT OF PREVENTIVE MEASURES

Chronic rhinosinusitis, including chronic maxillary sinusitis, is a common inflammatory disorder of the upper respiratory tract that can significantly impair quality of life and work productivity. The development and persistence of chronic maxillary sinusitis are associated with multiple interacting factors, including recurrent acute respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis, anatomical abnormalities of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, dental pathology, environmental exposures, and inadequate treatment of acute rhinosinusitis.
