The role of microbiota dysbiosis due to obesogenic diets in promoting atherosclerosis

The aim of this study was to look at the effect of high fat, high cholesterol and low fibre diets promoting atherosclerosis by mechanisms involving the gut microbiota. The role of diet-induced gut microbiota dysbiosis driving lymphoid trafficking from the gut to atherosclerotic plaques is evaluated. This work is relevant to role of diet and microbiota in atherosclerosis pathogenesis.
