Nooksack River Avulsion Mapping

This dataset contains relevent mapping and digitizing efforts for the Nooksack River and its avulsion history. I have included traces of modern and hisotric channels as well as outputs from my radius of curvature analysis and pulled data for landscape reconstruction.

Breakdown of Data:

Historic channel traces : 19th-century Nooksack channel digitized from GLO plat maps (UW Puget Sound River History Project).Modern channel traces : Active channel outlines and centerlines for the Nooksack, Sumas, and Johnson's Creek, digitized from LiDAR DEMs and REMsOxbow & paleochannel traces:  Relict oxbows and meander scars on Nooksack and Sumas floodplains. Confidence levels assigned using a modified GeMS protocolAverage channel widths: Polygon area divided by centerline length for modern, historic, and paleochannels.Radius of curvature :Three-point circle-fitting method along channel centerlines. Radiocarbon data: Dates from Cameron (1989) and Hutchings (2004)/Grabert (1983), recalibrated to 2σ using Calib Rev 8.1.0
