Daldinia eschscholtzii is a wood-decaying fungus which is known to produce potentially important secondary metabolites. In this study, D. eschscholtzii strain UM 1400 was isolated from a human skin scraping and identified via morphological and molecular approaches. The genomic DNA was sequenced to a 106-fold depth of coverage on the Illumina Hiseq2000 sequencer. The generated D. eschscholtzii UM 1400 genome provides insights into the host-fungal interaction study.
