Depth profile long-read metagenomics of the Mediterranean Sea pelagic microbiota

Here we have sequenced several metagenomic samples with long (PacBio Sequel II) and short (Illumina NextSeq) sequencing technologies to study, in detail, the prokaryotic community at the microdiversity level. Sequences from three depths during summer (when the water column is stratified) were collected at approximately 15, 60, and 75 m deep. During winter (when the water column is fully mixed), samples from 20 m were also collected and analyzed.
