RNA-seq of naso- and oropharyngeal specimens from patients with COVID-19

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a newly-emerging human infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). We performed RNA-seq analysis of nasal- and oropharyngeal swabs from COVID-19 patients before and after treatment (severe symptom n=3, mild n=3, and cured n=6) to characterize changes in gene expression. The results showed that the gene expression profiles from COVID-19 patients before treatment differed from those of cured.
