Gene expression changes characterization in whole body Drosophila melanogaster mated females as a function of chronological age and Smurf status Overall design: Comparative gene expression profiling analysis of RNA-seq data of Drosophila Drs-GFP line. Smurf and non-Smurf Individuals are sampled at three different time points (20 days – 90% survival, 30 days – 50% survival, 40 days – 10% survival), for a total of 32 samples (16 Smurfs and 16 non-Smurfs). Smurfs are sampled at a different time after transition (unknown time -Mixed samples, within 5 hours from transition – 5h, within 24h from transition -1d). In non – Smurfs, the “time after transition” indicates that the flies were sampled at the same moment of the corresponding Smurfs. Comparisons are made to study the Smurf transcriptome and chronological age-related changes.
