This animation shows a nucleosome located in its putative binding site on the SWI-SNF remodeling complex from yeast. The atomic structure of the DNA component of the nucleosome based on x-ray diffraction (red and green) is shown, together with the 3D envelope of SWI-SNF derived from cryo electron microscopy (gold). The location was inferred from crosslinking and other studies (see the PMID reference). The animation shows rotation about an arbitrary horizontal axis. Rotation about the vertical axis is shown in the grouped animation.
