Evolutionary Map of the Universe

The Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU), is one of the top-ranked astronomy projects using the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP). This survey will map the entire area of sky observable from Australia over the next ~5 years. EMU expects to detect and catalog over 50 million radio sources, compared to the 2.5 million detected over the entire history of radio-astronomy. These results will supply data to key science working groups in the areas of galactic and extra-galactic astronomy and cosmology, and be released publicly to the astronomical community via CASDA.
