Simulation data of population spatial distribution at 1km resolution in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration from 2020 to 2100 under SSPs scenario

To address future environmental changes and the ensuing social vulnerabilities, it is crucial to better understand future population dynamics. The team has developed a new set of global population projections with a spatial resolution of 1km, aligned with the SSP (Short for Future Population Projections), referred to as FPOP. As a dataset of global population spatial distribution for the long-term future (2020-2100, with a ten-year interval), FPOP outperforms the existing five datasets in accuracy across multiple scales, especially in densely populated areas.
