This dataset is named 'Navigational News Narratives: Media Bias Analysis Dataset' and was developed by the Vector Artificial Intelligence Research Institute. It is designed to analyze bias phenomena in news media, and investigate how such biases shape public perceptions of key topics including politics, health, and climate change. The dataset is comprehensive, covering diverse news categories such as climate crisis, professional journalism and others, with detailed annotations for bias types and severity levels. During its development, active learning approaches were employed, combining manual annotation and semi-supervised learning, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the dataset. This dataset is applicable to media research, artificial intelligence algorithm development and policy formulation, for identifying and mitigating the impacts of biased news narratives on public opinion.
