To complement the analysis in Chapters 4, 5, and 6, we provide a series of animated visualizations showing the temporal evolution of the number of active (non-idle) MPI processes under various conditions. The experiments vary along key dimensions: code type (STREAM Triad vs. a less saturating DIV kernel), communication pattern (direct-neighbor vs. long-distance), boundary behavior (non-periodic vs. periodic), and communication concurrency levels. Each video shows how these factors influence process activity patterns over time, providing visual insight into bottleneck avoidance and the stability of wavefronts. Video variants such as histograms, phase space plots, and circular phase plots and the concurrent number of active MPI processes are provided.
