Kalimantan Lestari (KaLi), Indonesia: Peatland Livelihoods and Fire, 2020-2025

The KaLi project was conducted in Kalimantan, Indonesia from 2020-2025 by UK and Indonesian universities and researchers. Its overall aims and context are highlighted above. In order to realise these aims, the Kali study was inherently interdisciplinary, and generated multiple datasets, including for example on air and water quality and remote sensing of fire incidences. The dataset uploaded here is a part of the overall KaLi project dataset. Other e.g. physical and natural science-based project datasets are uploaded in EIDC. This social science sub dataset focuses on issues of changing local livelihoods, fire use and livelihood impacts, fire risk and governance in 6 villages in the study area. It comprises interviews with community members/villagers at these sites and with village leaders/ key informants (n=109).
