Single Cell Genomes from the Hindgut of the American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana)

Genomes from the hind gut microbial community of an American cockroach. These organisms are not well understood but are common in gut environments across multiple species and evolutionary histories. This study adds to our understanding of the genetic potential held by gut microorganisms, including metabolic capabilities, niche occupation, and possible mechanisms of inter-species interactions.
