DNA methylation was a central epigenetic modification in various cellular processes of bacteria. There were three methylation related genes on the IncA/C2 plasmid, two of which were cytosine special (dcm). The IncA/C2 plasmid pVC211 had been transformed by conjugation to Vibrio cholerae strain C6706. The genome DNA of the strain before and after transformation of plasmid had been SMRT sequenced using Pacbio platform to get the whole change of the methylation pattern of the host effected by the IncA/C plasmid.
