A large-scale EST sequencing project has been undertaken for the purpose of gene discovery in the black tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon. It is a collaborative project involves Thai researchers from three universities and a research institute supported by Thailand National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).This EST database provides a useful resource for gene identification and functional genomic studies of shrimp.
