Raw sequence reads of ANME-2d enrichments from freshwater sediments

In this project, we sequenced two anaerobic methanotrophic bioreactor enrichments that were retrieved from sediments from a freshwater ditch in Ooijpolder (Nijmegen, the Netherlands) and a rice paddy (Vercelli, Italy). These enrichments were maintained for >10 years at the Department of Microbiology at the Radboud University. The goal was to characterize the microbial community including the ANME-2d archaea (Ca. Methanoperedens sp.) responsible for the anaerobic oxidation of methane.
