This dataset documents a comprehensive experimental study on the ns-pulse ultraviolet (UV) laser-induced damage characteristics of Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA). It includes raw and processed data generated from controlled laser irradiation experiments and subsequent characterization performed between 2023 and 2025.Key data encompasses:Laser Irradiation Conditions: The damage tests were conducted using a 355 nm laser with a pulse width of 6 ns (FWHM). The laser beam was focused by a 500 mm focal length lens to achieve a Gaussian spot with a 1/e² diameter of 157.5 μm. The maximum available pulse energy was 300 mJ.Characterization Data: Results include laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) measurements, UV-Vis spectroscopy data (for transmittance/absorption changes), and optical microscopy images (for damage morphology analysis).Primary Objective: The dataset aims to investigate the fundamental damage mechanisms of PMMA under high-power UV ns-laser exposure. It is intended to provide critical reference data to support the evaluation and potential application of PMMA components in high-power UV laser systems.
