Ammonifex degensii strain KC4. This strain (KC4; DSM10501) is the type strain of the species. The primary motivation of this whole genome shotgun sequencing project is to provide genomics-based research experience to UCLA undergraduates. The UCLA Undergraduate Genomics Research Initiative is a collaboration among Life Sciences and General Education courses.
