sex differentiation of male and hermaphroditic floral buds of androemonoecious persimmon

Persimmon sex types are diverse and occasionally labile, which can be act as an ideal material to study the regulatory mechanism of sex differentiation. However, sexual regulation pattern of persimmons, at present, are mainly focus on monoecy and dioecy, and studies on andromonoecy is barely limited. Here, histological and cytological observation, expression evaluation of OGI and MeGI genes, phytohormones assay and mRNA and small RNA transcriptome analysis between male and hermaphroditic floral buds of andromonoecious persimmon were performed to elucidate its regulatory mechanisms.
