The goal of this study was to identify target genes of the key dorso-ventral signaling components Toll, twist, short gastrulation, decapentaplegic. Tribolium virgins were treated with corresponding RNAi constructs (dsRNA) and offspring of treated mothers were collected 7.5 to 11.5h after egg lay. Offspring form untreated mothers or mother injected with dsRed (not encoded in the Tribolium genome) were used as control.
