The diarylethene (DAE), with reversible ring-open/closed forms, is renowned for its excellent thermal stability and fatigue resistance. Additionally, CuI is a promising p-type material. For sustainable development, there is a pressing need to develop new optoelectronic materials. This thesis presents comprehensive research on new smart coordination polymers achieved through effective coordination of DAE and CuI clusters. These DAE materials exhibit anti-parallel, quasi-parallel, and parallel modes. Notably, due to the distinct characteristics of different DAEs, we have discovered unique properties for the first time, including enhanced electrical conductivity, valence change, tunable photo-stimuli-responsive performance, high-pressure endurance, and restarted photochemical activity.
