Replication data for the article "Nanoscale temperature determination of individual gold nano-heaters in colloids by confocal dynamic light scattering" This article deals with the use of confocal Dynamic Lights Scattering (DLS) to measure the temperature of nanoheaters such as gold nanoparticles or gold@silica nanoparticles under irradiation in the plasmon band. The confocal DLS technique enables to determine the diffusion coefficient of the nanoparticles one by one, and to access the temperature of the medium by the determination of the ratio between the viscosity and the temperature. The hot brownian motion (HBM) theory is applied to relate the theoretical and measured temperatures, and two regimes of HBM must be used depending on the density of the nanoparticles. This study shows that confocal DLS is an accurate technique to probe the temperature of such nanoobjects under irradiation.
