Partial Genome Sequence and Molecular Characterization of phiCD52, a Myoviridae Phage Infecting Clostridium difficile. Clostridioides difficile strain:phiCD52

Clostridium difficile strains have been investigated for the presence of functional prophages. Following mitomycine C induction, temperate phages have been isolated. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has revealed member of Myoviridae family. Phage DNA has been purified following phage amplification on sensitive host and subjected to complete genome sequencing using Illumina technology. Following sequencing, double stranded-DNA (dsDNA) genomes have been assembled but still partial (2 contigs).
