considered a valuable method for studying plasticity of the central nervous
system. In order for vision restoration efforts to move forward, a better
understanding of the brain changes as a result of vision loss is urgently
needed. Neuroimaging in combination with sensory substitution devices offers
tremendous versatility to provide the answers needed when deciding on the
appropriate candidates for vision restoration.
