File List Supplement_1_Tornroos_Bonsdorff_2012.csv (md5: 377093d5b1e7495b53cec4b11f6c2533)Description The Supplement_1_Tornroos_Bonsdorff_2012.csv file is a comma-delimited file. It contains data on species occurence and trait information of northern Baltic Sea coastal benthos. In total 56 macrofaunal taxa were used for analysis, however, notes on other species found in the database and taxa noted in the area by other sources are also included. Frequency and mean abundance for all areas and visits during a 16-year period (1988–2004) are shown and frequency occurence of taxa above 1% is indicated. Notes on other occurring species in the area are also included either as (i) other taxa noted but not included in analysis or (ii) other benthic taxa noted in the area but not noted in the data set (not included in analysis). In total 25 traits, summing up to 102 modalities, were included and taxa scores (codings) are displayed for the 56 taxa used in the analyses. Traits covered were morphological, life-history, living, feeding, moving, and behavioral ones. Codes in the trait scoring part indicate type of literature source used for scoring; (I) pre-reviewed published sources (articles, books, etc.), (II) information based on the species phenotype, e.g., "body design", or based on other traits, and (III) expert knoledge or unpublished sources. (Note that the feeding traits "Feeding position" and "Feeding habit" [light gray] should not necessarily be used together in an analysis, since "Feeding habit" can be explained by using both "Feeding position" and "Resource capture method"). Column definitions: 1. Phylum 2. Group (order) 3. Species (TAXA) 4. – 10. Areas 11. – 12. Frequency and Mean ind.-2 abundance 13. – 138. Traits, modalities and trait codings 139. – 142. Summaries of number of modelaities scored Presence of a species is presented by an "X" Scale for codings is 0–3
