The Himawari-8 Satellite Cloud Image-based Typhoon Tracking Dataset is a multi-modal typhoon tracking dataset designed for meteorological applications. Targeted at research in the field of typhoon tracking and forecasting, it is built upon observations from the Himawari-8 satellite, and primarily records multispectral optical and thermal information in the near-infrared band. This dataset encompasses 29 typhoons that occurred in the Western Pacific and South China Sea regions in 2019, comprising a total of 3,509 frames of cloud image data along with corresponding multi-modal meteorological annotations for each frame.
The dataset contains the following data items:
1. Multi-band synthesized RGB image data files for typhoon observation;
2. Bounding box annotation data for the 7-level wind circle of the corresponding typhoon;
3. Meteorological information annotation data for the respective typhoon.
