RNA Sequencing of S. pyogenes SF370 Strains

This project examines how the chromosomal island SpyCIM1 interacts with the global transcriptional regulator Rgg1 to control gene expression and virulence in Streptococcus pyogenes strain SF370. Using RNA-seq, we compared transcriptional profiles of wild-type bacteria with mutants lacking SpyCIM1, rgg1, or both. We also compared the rgg1 mutant strain with the double mutant strain, which lacks both int4 and rgg1, to investigate if immobilizing SpyCIM1 alters the gene expression without the influence of rgg1.
