VPRS 16673 City Surveyor's Correspondence

Between 1898 to 1907 the correspondence received by the City Surveyor of Richmond was filed separately from the main series of general correspondence. The series is incomplete with some years missing. The contents of these files consists of correspondence received plus attached documents. The correspondence is from both individuals and organisations and covers a range of minor and major topics. On the back of much of the correspondence is a precis written by council staff at the time. Information in the precis includes the date, the sender and a summary of the contents and occasionally the action taken and the reply sent.
