Microbial community composition from litter addition to the soil

In order to reflect the response of the soil microbial community to the litter addition during the different stages of decomposition,we used the high-throughput sequencing technique to measure both the bacterial and fungal community composition. We used the SILVA database based on Mothur algorithm to assign taxonomic data for 16s rRNA gene. We used UNITE database with BLAST algorithm to assign taxonomic data for ITS rRNA gene. Our results suggested that the litter addition changed the bacterial and fungal community composition,and bacterial and fungal community composition changed significantly over the decomposition stage.
