Bird pollinator species of the Usambara Montane Forests in Tanga Region

This dataset serves as a baseline information for Bird Pollinator species of Usambara montane forests in Tanga Region. The Usambara montane forests, lies along the Eastern Arc Montane Forests, one of the 25 biodiversity hostspots in the world. It contains 32 records of bird pollinators of four species from two families: Nectariniida (Nectarinia olivacea, Nectarinia mediocris, Anthreptes neglectus) and Zosteropidae (Zosterops poliogaster). The data were collected between 1979 and 1981 by Dr. Simon Stuart from Cambridge University in UK for his PhD dissertation; and hosted by Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (TAWIRI). Geographical coordinate is provided for each record. With approval of Dr. Stuart, the data were digitized from his dissertation.This dataset is part of a 3 years (2018-2021) project namely “Assessing Landscape Level Impacts of Climate Change on Montane Forest Pollinators in Tanzania” funded by JRS Biodiversity Foundation, USA.
