Nitrogen (N) deposition elevation and precipitation regime alteration have emerged as two dominant factors affecting the environment on global scale. How these two environmental change factors together infulence the soil N dynamics and N losses of tropical and subtropical forests are less known. A field experimental platform containing N addition (N), rainfall seasonality change(R), the interaction of N addition and rainfall seasonality change (NR) and a control (C) were perfomed. Soil N contents, N transformation rates, nitrous oxide (N2O) effluxes, soil nitrifying and denitfirying functional gene abundances, and differentially expressed proteins in the nitrogen metabolism pathway were compared among treatments and between wet-dry seasons. The dataset includes data of four aspects: (1) soil properties, (2) N transformation rates, (3) abundances of nitrifying and denitrifying functional genes, and (4) differentially expressed proteins.
