Abstract “The Womb of Ø: Before Emptiness Had a Name” explores the ontological and philosophical dimensions of the empty set (Ø) through the lens of Zarvanian metaphysics. Rather than treating Ø as a mere logical artifact within formal set theory, this work interrogates its pre-linguistic and pre-mathematical roots. Drawing from the symbolic framework of Zarvān—the silent, timeless origin of Being—the essay examines how emptiness is not a fixed state or container, but an event: the pecking of blind temporal fragments upon the first abstraction of non-space (lāmakan). The text critiques the foundational assumptions of modern mathematics, especially the construction of natural numbers from Ø, and proposes a radical redefinition: that number must emerge not from the repetition of void, but from the felt contrast between presence and absence. Emptiness becomes a metaphysical threshold, and number, a sequence of existential tremors. This article is both a philosophical intervention and a poetic counter-narrative to the reductionist treatment of nothingness in logic and mathematics.
